EDUC 3640 - Middle Grades and Secondary Mathematics Methods (2) Credit Hours Prerequisite: SPED 3100 and (MGED 3400A and MGED 3400B or EDUC 3400A and EDUC 3400B ) Co-requisite: MGED 3600 or EDUC 3605 This course is for students pursuing a degree in educator preparation. It is designed to be taken along with either MGED 3600 or EDUC 3605, the second semester field practicum. This course will focus on methods for implementing student-centered instruction in middle and secondary education. Special emphasis will be placed on the particular ways of knowing associated with the study of middle and secondary education and incorporating these ways of knowing into learning activities for grades 4-12. Candidates will design learning activities for secondary students in the targeted content for which they are seeking certification.
