PHYS 3500 - Biological Effects of Radiation (3) Credit Hours Prerequisite: PHYS 1112K or PHYS 1112K An introduction to the concepts of radiobiology. Upon completion of this course, students will be able to (1) solve modern physics concepts of electromagnetic radiation, Compton effect and photoelectric effect; (2) describe the radiation response of cells and tissues; (3) explain and justify radiation effects on humans; and (4) demonstrate knowledge of radiation safety protocols and standards.
