POLS 4160 - American Judicial Process (3) Credit Hours Prerequisite: ENGL 1101 and ENGL 1102 with a grade of C or better or permission of the instructor This course will examine the structure and organization of state and federal courts, the selection of judges, judicial reasoning and decision making, the powers of the courts and the impact of the courts on American government and society. A basic theme of this course is that courts, as governmental institutions, must be understood in light of their relations with other institutions of government and with the general public.
