PSYC 3430 - Models of Psychotherapy (3) Credit Hours Prerequisite: PSYC 1102 ; PSDYC 2000 or PSYC 2010 ; PSYC 2400 ; or permission of instructor for non-psychology majors This course reviews major theoretical models of psychotherapy and examines how change occurs through psychotherapy. Models may include behavioral, cognitive-behavioral, psychodynamic, interpersonal, feminist, person-centered, multicultural/integrative, and couples/family systems therapies. Empirically-supported treatments (ESTs) and controversies surrounding EST approaches will be addresses.
