BIOL 3550K - Limnology with Laboratory (4) Credit Hours Prerequisite: BIOL 3500K This course emphasizes the structure and function of inland water systems. Upon completion of this course, students will: (1) describe physical and chemical features of freshwater systems and their influence on biotic communities and biotic interactions; (2) describe how human activities influence physical, chemical and biotic features in freshwater systems; (3) apply limnological principles to the management of freshwater systems; (4) use common limnological techniques and equipment to collect and analyze samples of water and biota from freshwater systems; (5) analyze and communicate scientific information gathered in the lab.
