BIOL 3650K - Terrestrial Ecology and Laboratory (4) Credit Hours Prerequisite: BIOL 3500K Upon completion of this course, students will be able to: (1) explain the interactions within populations, communities and ecosystems in terrestrial environments; (2) describe the properties of soils and explain their influence on primary production; (3) describe the flux of energy and biogeochemical within and through individuals, populations, communities and ecosystems in terrestrial environments; (4) predict current and future impacts on biodiversity in terrestrial systems from habitat loss, introduced invader species, overexploitation, habitat degradation and global climate change; (5) design experiments and surveys for terrestrial systems that incorporate appropriate statistical methodology.
