AFAM 2100 - Introduction to African American Studies 3 Credit Hours Prerequisite: ENGL 1101 with a grade of C or better This course introduces the discipline of African American Studies. It explains the student-driven foundation of the discipline and fundamental theoretical concepts. Students will learn through an interdisciplinary approach that uses history, social sciences, political science, literature, arts, and popular culture. Students will also examine the plurality of experiences and perspectives of African Americans and people of African descent that are contextualized as part of the larger African Diaspora.
