SOCI 3200 - Sociology of Gender (3) Credit Hours Prerequisite: SOCI 1101 or SOCI 1160 and ENGL 1102 or permission of instructor This course studies gender and examines gender constructions that occur across time and place. In this course, we will discuss the ways in which gender shapes and is shaped by language, art, politics, social institutions, and relationships. In addition, we will explore our own gender experiences as it relates to race, class, and sexuality within the context of large social systems.
