ENGL 3852 - Creative Writing: Non-fiction (3) Credit Hours Prerequisite: ENGL 1102 and ENGL 3800 both with a grade of C or better This course offers students the opportunity to study the writing of creative nonfiction. This course provides students with the history, theory, and practical skills necessary to create original writing with peer and instructor feedback. Students will learn how to critique their own and others’ writings in a positive and supportive environment. The course will include crafting creative nonfiction, interpreting the work of others, and participating in writing exercises and workshop sessions. Students will read, analyze, evaluate, and discuss classmates’ work as well as that of published authors. Special emphasis is placed on the idea that reading and studying creative nonfiction is a necessary part of the writing process.
