ITEC 4000 - Cloud Computing Technologies

Prerequisite: ITEC 3100, ITEC 3200
This course presents a top-down view of cloud computing from applications, administration and infrastructure. Topics include: History and overview of cloud computing systems, cloud service models. distributed storage systems, Raid technology, virtualization, security in the cloud and a practical analysis of current industry cloud platforms. Students who have successfully completed the course will be able to: 1) described the history and evolution of cloud computing 2) explain the underlying technologies of the cloud 3) identify various cloud deployment platforms 4) compare various cloud service models 5) identify security and privacy issues in the cloud 6) examine business impacts of cloud migration 7) design and create a cloud solution using industry platforms.
