HDAS 4510 - HDAS Internship

Prerequisite: Completion of Area F, 15 credits hours of 3000/4000 level HDAS courses Junior Standing or higher and permission of instructor
The three-credit HDAS internship is designed for undergraduate students to gain applied experience in a human service setting of choice that will allow them to apply their academic learning meaningful ways. Interns will go through the process of identifying potential internship sites, acquiring an internship, negotiating internship tasks and expectations, and designing an internship that is approved by the program. Several professional development skills such as business etiquette, ethical practices, diversity training, HIPAA and time management will be emphasized. The field experience will provide opportunities to explore a career choice, develop a professional network, and gain advanced training opportunities.
