NURS 3012 - Integrated Pathophysiology and Pharmacology II

(3) Credit Hours
Prerequisite: Admissions to the Nursing Program; successful completion of NURS 3000 ,NURS 3011 , NURS 3020 ,NURS 3030  with a Grade of C or higher.
This is the second course in a two-part series. Building on previous science, mathematics, and nursing courses, this course provides opportunities for students to explore advanced concepts related to altered function and adaptive responses in individuals because of illness, injury, and/or disease across the lifespan.  Select exemplars describe pathophysiologic changes related to cellular regulation, genetics, neoplasia, immunity, hemodynamics, perfusion, oxygenation, nutrition and digestion, metabolic and hormonal regulation, elimination, intracranial regulation, and mobility.  In depth exploration of the pathophysiology of select diseases/illnesses and pharmacotherapies used in the treatment of these diagnosis forms the foundation for this course.
