NURS 4002 - Complementary and Altrnative Approaches to Health (3) Credit Hours Prerequisite: Admissions to the Nursing Program and successful completion of NURS 3000 , NURS 3011 , NURS 3020 , NURS 3030 with a grade of C or higher. The Complementary and Alternative Approaches to Health elective introduces students to an in-depth understanding of the practice and holistic treatments used in various complementary and alternative health therapies for clients across the life span. The nurses role is examined through a cultural lens while exploring the evolution, research, efficacy and safety of various therapies. Alternative therapies, mind-body-spirit therapies, manipulative and body based therapies, natural products, and energy therapies are some examples of topics to be investigated. The participants will be able to assist clients in making informed decisions when using alternative and complementary therapies
