PHED 1020 - Intermediate Tennis

Prerequisite: PHED 1015   or permission of instructor
This course is designed for intermediate tennis players who have taken beginner tennis skills.  The course will introduce intermediate tennis skills, advanced offensive and defensive skills. The focus of the course will be on developing singles and doubles game play strategies. Upon completion this course the students will able to: 1) Understand strategies and game components related to intermediate tennis play with emphasis on strategy and shot selection; 2) Demonstrate skills such as spins associated with serve, backhand, forehand, volley and advanced footwork; 3) Demonstrate advanced tactical knowledge associated with offense, defense, singles and doubles game play.
