HUSE 4020 - Birth and Parenthood (3) Credit Hours Prerequisite: ENGL 1102 , (HUSE 2000 or HDAS 2000 ) or permission of instructor Students will analyze experiences of birth and parenthood both nationally and globally. Students will address the experiences of procreation and parenting historically and culturally using a constructionist perspective. Students will look at state and federal policies and the way regulation and surveillance have shaped procreation and parenting issues. Other course topics will include: procreative politics, medical and non-medical constructions of pregnancy, care giving, birth control, adoption, and parenthood. We will use primarily intersectional, and feminist perspectives
