DATA 1501 - Introduction to Data Science

Prerequisite: Prerequisite: HSGPA >=3.2 or ACT MATH >=17 or SAT MATH >=400 or ACCNGM>=258 or MATH 1111* or MATH 1111 or MATH 1001 or MATH 1401 or MATH 1113 with a grade of C or concurrently AND ACT ENGL>=17 or SAT EBRW >=480 or (ACCNGR>=237 and ACCW>=4) or ENGL 1101* or ENGL 1101^ C or better or ENGL 1101 or ENGL1101H C or better or concurrently.
This course is intended to provide an introduction into the field of Data Science. Students will develop skills in appropriate technology and basic statistical methods by completing hands-on projects focused on real-world data and addresses the social consequences of data analysis and application.
