HUSE 3700 - The Practice of Social Work

3 Credit Hours
Prerequisite: ENGL 1102   and HUSE 2000  or better; or permission of instructor
This course examines the professional practice of social work.  Students will gain a historical and institutional overview of the profession while learning to apply skills, knowledge, and ethical standards required to help diverse clients get the resources and care they need.  Emphasis is placed on the settings for social work practice, including poverty, child welfare, mental health, domestic violence, politics, and international aid.
