ITEC 4340 - Ethical Hacking (4) Credit Hours Prerequisite: ITEC 2140 and ITEC 3100 and ITEC 3300 This course provides the skill sets required to be a good ethical hacker/security specialist. It provides a hands-on introduction to ethical hacking, penetration testing and enhances the students’ information security analytical skills. Topics include network and computer attacks, foot-printing and social engineering, port scanning, enumeration, OS vulnerabilities, hacking web servers, hacking wireless networks, cryptography, and network protection systems. Upon completion of this course, students will: (1) Describe the ethical and moral principles of information security, (2) Describe the vulnerabilities of various web applications and operating systems, (3) Demonstrate foot printing, scanning, enumeration and vulnerabilities assessments, (4) Demonstrate the vulnerabilities exploitation methods and algorithms, (5) Design network security applications and patches, (6) Analyze the various cryptosystems for IoTs, and (7) Create scripts for penetration testing and system security.
