SEC 5500 - Digital Age for Secondary Teachers (3)

Prerequisites & Notes
Admission to the MAT Program

Digital Age Teaching Seminar for Secondary Teachers offers a practical, project-based approach to designing and learning in the digital age, with a heavy emphasis on the transformative role of artificial intelligence (AI). The seminar is designed to equip MAT candidates with concrete skills, digital fluency, and critical mindset necessary to create effective and secure learning environments for all students. As such, candidates will engage with recent research on use (and misuse) of AI to support their own creation of educational content using AI. Throughout the course, candidates will apply and evaluate ISTE Standards while grappling with critical issues such as digital citizenship, data ethics, and the equitable use of AI. Because the landscape of educational technology is constantly evolving, this course is designed to be adaptive, ensuring the curriculum remains relevant to the latest innovations.
