Admission to the MAT Program

Graduate Practicum for Secondary Teachers is a 10-week field-based intensive in a 6-12 school setting. Serving as a pre-student teaching experience, MAT candidates will begin their practicum during site preplanning, transitioning into full-time teaching. The primary goal of this practicum is application of research-based instructional practices, fostering of critical thinking at the 6-12 level, and working collaboratively with curriculum/grade-level planning teams.
