SEC 5950 - Graduate Student Teaching Seminar for Secondary Teachers (3) Prerequisites & Notes Admission to the MAT Program
Graduate Student Teaching Seminar serves to complement graduate student teaching and provide a forum for candidates to engage in reflective practice and problem solving, particularly as it pertains to instructional decision-making and teacher agency in grades 6-12 school settings. Using research-based practices, MAT candidates will use this space to collaboratively address issues as they arise in student teaching, such as student motivation, professional learning communities, classroom management, and communicating with parents, administrators, and colleagues. Three assignments are structured to meet these goals: Critical Incidents, Peer-to-Peer teaching video analysis, and the Problems of Practice applied research project. This seminar is guided by the experiences and immediate needs of graduate student teachers.
