HIST 4145 - Sixties America (3) Credit Hours Prerequisite: Completion of ENGL 1102 and the History Requirement in Area “E” A study of America in the 1960s, a crisis period in U.S. history out of which emerged major cultural change and new political arrangements. Students will examine a variety of secondary and primary sources – novels, “underground” newspapers, photographs, music, documentaries and government documents - to develop an understanding of the racial, ethnic and social movements that dominated the era.
