The cybersecurity certificate is designed for undergraduate and post-baccalaureate students seeking to advance their skills in the field of Information Security. Students who are seeking an Information Technology degree with a concentration in Systems and Security are NOT eligible for the certificate.
Students with the completed certificate will develop essential expertise in the concepts, technical aspects, and information security principles, necessary to increase job prospects and add to one’s professional portfolio. Coursework includes: Introduction to Networking, Information Security, Operating System Security, Internet Security and Cloud Computing.
These courses require certain prerequisites in Information Technology. For students who are not Information Technology majors, a Cybersecurity Certificate program coordinator will be point of contact for students interested in and in the program. The coordinator will work with ITEC Chair of Studies to determine any prerequisites needed by certificate students.
