ITEC 3700 - Systems Analysis and Design (3) Credit Hours Prerequisite: ITEC 2201 , ITEC 2150 Additional Requirement: Windows based laptop or Apple MacBook (see IT Laptop Program @ www.ggc.edu/itlaptop) Students become familiar with various concepts, principles and stages of computer-based information systems analysis and design Upon completion of this course students will be able to: (1) apply a variety of techniques to analyze business problems and discover system requirements; (2) effectively communicate system requirements to both technical and non-technical audiences business and other areas; (3) identify candidate technical solutions, analyze those candidate solutions and recommend a target system that meets requirements and major topics in AI; (4) prepare technical design specifications for building systems that meet a given set of system requirements with an emphasis on the interface and program levels; (5) describe general design principles from within and outside of the systems development field and evaluate extent to which existing systems conform to such principles.
