PHYS 2212K - Principles of Physics II with Laboratory (4) Credit Hours Prerequisite: PHYS 2211K and MATH 2210 with grade of C or better An introductory course that will include material from Electricity, Magnetism, Optics, and Waves. Algebra, trigonometry, and differential and integral calculus will be routinely used. Upon completion of this course students will be able to: (1) Demonstrate a conceptual and mathematical knowledge of electrostatic force, field, potential energy and potential; (2) Demonstrate a conceptual and mathematical knowledge of DC circuits containing batteries, resistors, and capacitors; (3) Demonstrate a conceptual and mathematical knowledge of magnetic forces and fields and induction; (4) Demonstrate a conceptual and mathematical knowledge of ray and wave optics; (5) Effectively collect and present scientific data gathered through experiment; (6) Use computational and estimation skills to analyze data, construct and interpret charts, graphs, and tables, and compose scientific explanations.
