ELED 3550B - Elementary Education Field II 2 Credit Hours Prerequisite: ELED 3100 B or higher AND ELED 3400A C or higher AND ELED 3400B C or higher Co-requisite: ELED 3550A This field seminar course is a co-requisite of ELED 3550A - Instructional Methods for the Elementary Classroom. This course focuses on the design and delivery of developmentally appropriate instruction in grades 4 and 5 for a wide range of candidates, including English Language learners. Under the supervision of a qualified mentor teacher and college supervisor, candidates will develop professional knowledge about the curriculum in an elementary classroom. Candidates will also learn to plan and implement developmentally appropriate and culturally inclusive instruction. Candidates will be expected to demonstrate professionalism when interacting with classroom teachers, candidates school faculty and staff. Candidates are also expected to show initiative in the classroom. This course includes 2 ½ days in an elementary field placement plus the equivalent of 50-minutes twice a month in a face-to-face or virtual meeting with field supervisors.
