ENVS 1102 - Culture and Environment

(3) Credit Hours
This course is an introduction to the ways that people interact with their environment. Various social, cultural, legal and political perspectives on the environment are considered. Upon completion of this course, students will have demonstrated the ability to: 1. Communicate environmental science issues to various audiences in both written and oral form. 2. Apply social scientific research methods and techniques to address environmental issues. 3. Demonstrate critical thinking and analytical problem solving skills related to sociocultural or political environmental issues. 4. Communicate the sociocultural and ethical issues connected to environmental matters. 5. Demonstrate knowledge of the cultural, economic, legal, and political frameworks involving environmental policy-making.
