GFA 2310 - Fundamentals of Unreal Engine (6) Credit Hours Prerequisite: GFA 1040 or GFA 1500 Students create either their own game or a mock virtual production environment using the different systems and editors within Unreal Engine. Topics include, but are not limited to, gameplay scripting, building levels/sets, cinematics, realtime vfx, optimization, user interfaces, and animation.
GFA 2310 is the lower-level option of GFA 3310. Whenever possible, students should take the 3000/4000-level GFA course option. The 3000-level counterpart has additional academic rigor, including creative projects and the study of history and theory of the craft. Students cannot take both the 2000- and 3000/4000-level option of equivalent courses. Either the 2000- or 3000-level course would satisfy the prerequisite for its related 4000-level course. If pursuing the Nexus, the 3000/4000-level upper-division course is required. Pursuing the 2000-level course will not result in a Nexus degree, but may be used towards GFA certification.
