BIOL 2370 - From Genes to Evolution

Prerequisite: BIOL 1107K  BIOL 1108K  
This course will challenge students to think as a scientist by enhancing their scientific literacy and expanding on biological concepts covered in introductory biology courses. This course will primarily focus on integrating key concepts from genetics, molecular biology, and evolution which span the breadth of and link all biology courses. By the end of this course students will be able to (1) calculate, analyze, interpret, and graph quantitative scientific data presented from multiple formats including case studies and primary literature, (2) discuss, critique, and design scientific experiments to investigate observations pertaining to genetics and evolution, (3) use metacognitive skills to reflect on learning related process, (4) communicate effectively about scientific concepts using appropriate scientific vocabulary in oral and written form
