BIOL 1011K - Introductory Biology and Lab (eCore)

4 Credit Hours
Prerequisite: HSGPA >= 3.2 or ACT MATH >=17 or SAT MATH >=400 or ACCM >=67 or ACCNGM >=258 or MATH 1001* or MATH 1111* with a C or higher AND ACT ENGL >=17 or SAT CR READ >=430 or (ACCR >= 61 and ACCW >=4) or (ACCNGR >=237 and ACCW >=4) or ENGL 1101 C or concurrently
An  introduction to fundamental unifying prinicples in biology.  Topics covered in the course include:  checmistry of life, cell structure and membranes, cellular functions (metabolism, respiration,s photosynthesis, communication, and reproduction), genetics (inheritance patterns, DNA structure and function, gene expression and biotechnology), and evolution.  this course involves both lecture and lab components.   This course is equivaluent to BIOL 1101K.

 

This course has a laboratory component that requires you to purchase a lab kit. More information can be found below, but you are encouraged to purchase the kit and begin gathering any additional materials as soon as possible.
