The Internet and Web technologies have fundamentally changed how organizations communicate, share information, and make decisions. As the number of devices and network applications increases, the amount and complexity of data being stored also grows. For this data to be beneficial to managers, it must first be analyzed and converted into actionable knowledge that can lead to better business outcomes. Managers are struggling to make sense of this data and to keep it secure in the face of threats from internal and external intruders.

With this view in mind, this course focuses on the Business Intelligence and the following associated topics: Big Data, Technology changes enabling BI, business reports and visual analytics (including infographics), Data warehouse, BI Front-end tools, Data quality, Text and Web analytics. Students will become proficient with Excel PivotTables, Power Pivot, Power View, Smart PLS and Piktochart for creating infographics
