Return to: Programs of Study
This interdisciplinary Certificate in Nonprofit Advocacy, which can be delivered fully online, is designed to prepare students for careers in the nonprofit sector, in both paid and volunteer positions. By selecting a variety of courses that emphasize non-profit advocacy from the School of Liberal Arts, students will engage in a concentrated course of study that expands their understanding of the social issues and policy challenges faced by nonprofit organizations in the 21st century. Students must complete five three-credit courses, two foundational courses, and one course from each of the three required areas of concentration (Non-profits and Fundraising, Non-profit Communication, and Non-profits and Public Policy), with a C or better. Students pursuing a Bachelor’s degree should consider pairing the Non-Profit Advocacy Certificate with two other concentrations to complete a Bachelor of Science in Integrative Studies. The is currently an embedded certificate, but will become a stand-alone certificate beginning in academic year 2023-2024.
9 credit hours must be taken at the 3000/4000 Level
