NURS 4021 - Wellness and Illness IV

(7) Credit Hours
Prerequisite:   (NURS 4001 , NURS 4002 , NURS 4003 , or NURS 4004 ) and NURS 4020 , NURS 4051   with a Grade of C or higher
This senior level clinical course builds upon NURS 4020   and complements the co and pre-requisite courses giving students the opportunity to examine acute and chronic multi-system alterations in wellness in individuals. Families, and groups across the lifespan. Emphasis is placed on practicing skills of delegation, prioritization, and coordination of care to promote, maintain, and restore health, and prevent illness. The student will understand dimensions of patient care addressing the holistic needs of individuals, families, and groups. The clinical focus is on student role transformation through critical analysis and judgment using principles of leadership to care for groups of clients from diverse and/or vulnerable populations. Amplification and integration of previous course concepts are incorporated within classroom, simulation, and clinical settings. Student provided off campus travel is required.
